Exactly.  So many people seem to have a narrow world view of only Fords
and Chevies.  Sheesh..only two points on the spectrum!  The world of
automobiles is a vast, exciting and fascinating thing for me.. I love
older muscle cars, classic European sports cars, and modern Japanese
sports cars and European luxury cars..

I spent a couple hours this past weekend walking around at the local
BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, and Cadillac-Rolls Royce dealers.  Kind of a
reminder/reinforcement for one of the reasons I'm working so hard to get
my Ph.D. and a good, high paying job.. ;-)

  I'm

I'd love to see Chrysler re-enter the pony car competition.  Ford
and GM have some wonderful powertrains (the 4.6 DOHC, the LT1/LS1 V-8)
and Chrysler has zilch except for the Viper..

With a new V-8 coming before the end of the decade for the trucks and
JGC, though, a glimmer of hope remains.. I for one would love to
see a modern Barracuda and Challenger.  Smooth, '90s-styling, with
traces of the '70 E bodies in the rear and roof (ala the Venom show car
of a few years back).  Problem is Chrysler has no rear-drive platform--
perhaps a conversion of the LH or Avenger or Sebring convertible
platforms, or use the Jeep Grand Cherokee platform??

Something fun to think about..

I just can't understand why, when somebody owns a specific make or model
of a vehicle,  They feel they have to trash everybody that don't own what
they have.  I personally see great importance in diversity of cars.
Wouldn't life suck if every vehicle was the same, talk about boring.  I'm
happy when some other manufacturer makes a better car, it gives you a goal
to shoot for and to exceed.  I hope the big 3 keep upping the horsepower
wars.  Long live Ford, GM & Chrysler.

Good Point D.J.;
Even though I am a F-Body man, I still enjoy other makes & models.
I'm not to keen on the new mustangs, but the fox body pony were nice.
My friend/coworker has a killer 351cid powered '87 GT and
another guy I used to cruise with owns a '93 Cobra.
Both very nice Mustangs, I'd probally say good things about Mopars
but they don't make any affordable competitors.
And as long as the horsepower wars go on, I think that the top 3
will continue to build faster and better cars.
