Planning to change from 15 inch wheels with P225-60-15 tires to the 5 Star
wheels with P225-55-16 tires.

Will this conversation have a noticable affect upon the ultimate gear ratio and
accelleration ?

Many thanks,

Geo.

The 225-55-16 tires will be almost 1/8" taller than the 225-60-15s. You
shouldn't notice any performance or mileage gains with that change.

Actually it's only .057" taller which works out to 0.4% larger
circumference.  That's neigh on perfect.

Oops...   that's 0.114" taller.  Still only 0.4% larger circumference.

If you are going to change tire size, why not go with something wider like a
245-50-16. All you are doing is putting on a lower profile tire and gonna pay a few
bucks more for something that 's going to throw off your speedometer and not make
any performance (and very little looks) improvement. To keep the same rolling
diameter with go with a 235-55-16 ( not sure if they have it) or the above
mentioned tire size.

Thanks very much for these helpful postings.  I was confused in figuring where
I'd be with different tires.  This is great help.
